Its history is closely linked to the Hospitallers of the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem, which later became the Sovereign Order of Malta, the capital of the Hospitallers in Périgord. It was the Viscounts of Turenne who allowed the Hospitallers of Saint John of Jerusalem to settle in gratitude for the services rendered during the first crusades.

Over the centuries, the Château became a pleasure residence inhabited by the local Lords, owners of vast areas around the château dedicated to the cultivation of vines and livestock. One of the entrances to the inner courtyard is adorned with bunches of grapes carved into the stone, marking the entrance to the château’s cellars. The stables of the time have now become a vast reception hall where banquets, weddings, and seminars are held.

The Château includes 25 bedrooms and 8 in the 700m² annex, a restaurant room that can accommodate 80 people.
A wing of the Château can accommodate seminars and weddings for 90 people, up to 250 with the addition of a marquee.
